Student Sustainability Summit

The University of Alberta’s Office of Sustainability collaborates with Sustain SU: The Student Sustainability Service to present an annual Student Sustainability Summit. For 2018, the Student Sustainability Summit will be partnering with the Alberta Student Leadership Summit to bring you two conferences for the price of one!

The summits are sharing the theme of (Re)Start Here, which inspires a sense of journey. It is a challenge to (re)visit past experiences, (re)examine assumptions, and (re)imagine what success means. Whether you are embarking on your leadership adventure, initiating a sustainability project or (re)invigorating your approach to creating change, this is the place to start!

This weekend event includes sessions and panels designed to provide students with personal and professional development opportunities. Student from across Alberta will delve into topics including social justice, sustainable food systems, change management, local economies and campus sustainability.

The summit provides the tools, resources and networks we need to equip the next generation of sustainability leaders in Alberta.

Workshops are hosted by community groups and organizations such as:

• Keepers of the Athabasca
• Samson Cree Nation
• Spruce Permaculture
• Student Energy
• The Landing

Registration costs $30 and includes attendance at both summits, as well as meals during the weekend. Register before Wednesday, January 24, 2018!
