Join a free walking tour of North Campus and discover some of the features that make the University of Alberta a leader in campus sustainability and have earned the institution a STARS™ Gold rating.

Many of our tour stops look quite ordinary, but they have unique sustainability features below the surface.

Regularly scheduled tours

Daily, hour-long walking tours are offered through the Campus Visits Program. Start times vary between 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Please register at least one week ahead of time.

Self-guided tour

All of the stops on the Campus Sustainability Tour are outdoors or open to the public. With this handy downloadable guide, you can now arrange a custom tour at your convenience. Learn about the unique sustainability features of the university's buildings and grounds, on your own and at any time.

Join a tour

Presented daily, but pre-registration is requested. Tours take just under one hour. Please wear comfortable footwear.

Walking tours are delivered collaboratively between the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Sustainability. All tours will be guided by UAlberta Ambassadors.

Green Building Tours

The Office of Sustainability can take you inside some of the university's outstanding green buildings. You'll get to see some of their features up close and you'll meet people with similar interests.

Currently, tours are available for the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy (ECHA), the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CCIS) and Triffo Hall. Additionally, you can tour the university's District Energy System.

General Campus Tours

The Campus Visits program provides several other tour options. Sign up to explore the North Campus, Campus Saint-Jean, Augustana or Lister Hall. There are also tours with a special focus on Aboriginal students, international students and young guests.
