Join the Office of Sustainability - Campus Sustainability Volunteer

Share your passion for sustainability, develop your talents and have fun! Contribute to a sustainable campus by becoming an Office of Sustainability CSV.

The Office of Sustainability's structured volunteer program provides students of all levels with opportunities to learn and contribute to campus life. You will join an engaging team and help deliver outreach programs to students.

You will gain unique access to the campus sustainability community, a chance to work on independent or group projects, and opportunities for professional development. For instance, OS - CSVs are given preferential access to Green Grants and the Student Sustainability Summit.

Commitments

This program runs from October to April . Everyone will be expected to volunteer for at least 5 hours a month for a minimum of 30 hours. Volunteers have the option to work longer hours or to take on extra projects, if they choose.

Becoming an Office of Sustainability CSV

The Office of Sustainability recruits every September and January (if additional support is required). During the recruitment and training process, applicants have the opportunity to select which project they are most interested in. Successful applicants will then be assigned to a single project according to their top choices.

Alumni

From our campus to our communities, University of Alberta alumni are committed to doing great things through volunteerism. Alumni can get involved in many sustainability initiatives, from supporting events like the Sustainability Speaker Series, to sharing your sustainability story, to providing mentorship and advice to students, to getting involved in the delivery of projects like Eco Move Out. The Office of Sustainability works directly with the Office of Alumni Relations to make opportunities available to alumni.

Make your time count. Volunteer with the Alumni Association to explore the many ways that you can stay connected and stay involved with your university.
