About the Program
Sustainability Scholars is sponsored by the City of Edmonton, the University of Alberta’s Office of the Provost, the Office of Sustainability, Facilities and Operations and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. It is administered by the University of Alberta Career Centre.
The Sustainability Scholars Program supports achievement of long-term goals in the City of Edmonton’s sustainability plans, as outlined in The Way Ahead. It also supports the University of Alberta’s draft Sustainability Plan 2012-2016, which calls for exploring opportunities to involve community experts in sustainability as teachers and mentors and strengthening student research experiences on complex issues that underpin Alberta’s socioeconomic and ecological future.
